Disbelief, dismay and pain. These are the feelings that are crossing the minds and hearts of the inhabitants of Canoloa small Calabrian municipality in the Locride. It is here, in this center famous for its scenic beauty and for safeguarding and hosting the “Southern Dolomites” with its very particular geosite, that Tiziana Tozzo, the 45-year-old woman who tragically died in the accident on Saturday evening in Como, grew up .

The woman was in a Mercedes together with her friend Morgan Algeri when suddenly the car took off and crashed into the bench and the railing of the lakeside, falling into the water. A sudden and dramatic death that shook the consciences of many. The woman’s father, a native of the Serre Vibonesi, moved to Canolo in the 70s and it was there that Tiziana grew up and where she started a family (the 45-year-old leaves behind a 14-year-old son).

Upset Mayor Rosario Larosa: “It’s a tragedy that affects the entire community, we were astonished and shocked when we heard the news. Tiziana had grown up here and then moved to Cantù for work.” Tiziana Tozzo’s body will be buried in the family chapel in the Canolo cemetery.
