The countdown to the Vara starts officially today. Tonight, in fact, there will be the first official act of approaching the procession of August 15 with the transfer of the Cippo to Piazza Castronovo which will take place at 19.30 and with the subsequent blessing.
“We want to begin to enhance the story – says the councilor for culture Enzo Caruso – remembering that ours is the Vara Mother, from whom those of Randazzo, Fiumedinisi, Palmi then descend”. And we are also trying to recover the symbolism, nor is the positioning of the Vara that has been placed, the next day, the portal front because “before it came from Corso Cavour”, recalls Caruso. «These are those small details that serve above all from us Messina to recover values and symbols and that were reported in the ancient texts but nobody read them.
