Road tragedy in Acquedolci where 54-year-old Giuseppe Criscì and 25-year-old Domenico Gerbino, respectively father-in-law and son-in-law both originally from Caronia, lost their lives in an accident.
An injured girl, twenty-year-old daughter of the 54-year-old and girlfriend of the driver, is urgently transported to the Sant’Agata Militello hospital. All three were traveling in a Volkswagen “Golf” driven by the boy, which collided with another identical car.
The fatal impact occurred shortly after 8pm on state road 113 at the west side exit of the town center of Acquedolce, on a stretch of straight road in front of the municipal cemetery. The exact dynamics of the accident remain to be clarified.
According to a first hypothesis, which remains to be verified and examined by investigators, the car in which the victims were traveling appears to have been proceeding towards Palermo when, for reasons to be ascertained, it collided with the other “Golf”. Following the terrible impact, the car hit a tree on the right side of the road and, after rearing up, ended its run overturned on its side. Unfortunately for the two men on board the vehicle there was nothing that could be done. Both died instantly from their serious injuries.
The girl who was on board with them, as mentioned, was injured and was rescued by the “118” medics who transported her to the Sant’Agata Militello hospital. Traumas and bruises apparently not serious for the young man who was at the wheel of the other car, who was also treated by doctors.
