In recent days, the staff of the Mobile Team of the Police Headquarters of Vibo Valentia and the fixed police seat of Tropea proceeded to arrest in the act of three subjects, including a minor, accused of the crime of theft, committed in competition with each other.
In particular, on the day of 29.07,2025, during the usual control activities of the territory aimed at the prevention and repression of the crimes in general, agents of the Tropea Police fixed place they noticed three boys, two of which are ongoing and one aboard an EBIKE, wandering through the streets of the city center with suspicion. Realizing the presence of the operators, one of the subjects quickly distinguished themselves of a white wrapper, throwing it inside a planter, and delivering a cell phone to the boy with the ebike.
Readyly blocked by the agents and subjected to a control on the spot, the agents thus had the opportunity to ascertain that the two adult subjects include different police prejudices, and that the white wrapper, previously thrown and immediately recovered, contained a drug/brown in color of the hashish type of the net weight of 1 gram.
After being subjected to a personal search on the spot, the three boys, who did not provide any valid motivation about their presence in the municipality of Tropea, were conducted at the Tropea police offices of Tropea police for the necessary investigations. All three claimed to stay in a curtain installed in a municipal park, where the agents of the permanent place of Tropea went for the appropriate checks.
Once on the spot, the operators were approached by a man who reported having suffered the theft of their cell phone a few minutes earlier by three boys, indicating one of the controlled subjects as one of the responsible for the crime.
Exposed the facts to the agents, and formalized the relative complaint, the complaint, also conducted at the police offices, recognized the cell phone found on the minor as his own.
From further investigations that have taken place, the police also had the opportunity to ascertain that the ebike held by the minor had also been stolen the night before, always in Tropea, to the legitimate owner, immediately identified by the agents.
The three young people were thus referred to in a state of freedom for the crime of theft in competition, proceeding for one of them also to the reporting to the prefecture of residence for the administrative offense of personal use of narcotic substances (art. 75 Presidential Decree 309/90), and, under the coordination of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, the two adult boys were subjected to the measure of home arrest at suitable structures, while the minor was entrusted to their own parents.
After the validation of the arrest, the two young people were released from the court of Vibo Valentia and returned to their municipalities of residence, as a consequence of the prevention measure, issued by the commissioner of the province of Vibo Valentia, Dr. Ruperti, of the “compulsory route”, with which the same was obliged to leave the territory of the Municipality of Vibo Valentia, with impossibility of returning to you.
