With the whole world anxious about the United States’ next moves in the Middle East, Donald Trump waited an hour and a half, almost to the end of his State of the Union address, to talk about Iran. However, the most powerful commander-in-chief in the world has not given clear signals about his intentions on the eve of the talks in Geneva, other than a general warning that Tehran has developed missiles capable of hitting Europe, American bases in the region and, in the near future, the United States directly.

A statement that aroused the anger of the ayatollah regime which accused the US president of being a liar like the Nazi megaphone Joseph Goebbels, while new sanctions against Iranian oil and weapons arrived from Washington. “I prefer to resolve the issue with diplomacy but one thing is certain: I will never allow the number one sponsor of terrorism to have nuclear weapons,” Trump declared to Congress, reiterating a concept repeated several times in recent months. Then the alert: Tehran «has already developed missiles that can hit Europe and the United States.

They can threaten our bases abroad. And they are working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States”, added the tycoon without providing further details. According to experts, since the war with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq in the 1980s, Iran has developed a good arsenal to be able to strike enemies from a distance, also thanks to the help of China, Russia and North Korea. It is estimated that Tehran possesses over 3,000 missiles, including a large short-range missile (SRBM), with a range of 300-1000 km, and medium-range missiles (MRBM) with a range of 1000-3000 km, therefore capable of reaching Europe or attacking the American “armada” deployed in the Middle East.

The ballistic program, moreover, is a point on which the Iranian regime has reiterated several times that it does not want to give in. “They have been warned not to make any future attempts to resume their weapons program, especially nuclear weapons. They want to start all over again and right now they are pursuing their sinister ambitions,” insisted Trump. The Iranian Foreign Ministry denied the tycoon’s statements on missiles.

“Whatever they are saying about Iran’s nuclear program, Iran’s ballistic missiles and the number of casualties during the January unrest, is simply the repetition of ‘big lies,’” spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said on X, accusing Washington and Israel of being “professional liars.”

“Repeat a lie often enough and it will become the truth, it is a law of propaganda coined by Nazi Joseph Goebbels. This law is now systematically used by the US administration and the war profiteers surrounding it, particularly the genocidal Israeli regime, to fuel their sinister disinformation campaign against the Iranian nation,” attacked Baqaei. “No one should be fooled by these obvious falsehoods.”
