The toll is three injured, but two young people from Brolo are in very serious conditions in the resuscitation department of the Polyclinic.
The serious toll of the serious road accident that occurred yesterday evening, around 7pm, on the superfast road that connects the crossroads of Ponte Naso to Sinagra, along Provincial Road 146, is heavy. For reasons still under investigation, in the territory of Naso and shortly after the crossroads that leads to the “Bontempo” restaurant, it seems that a Mini Cooper driven by an eighteen-year-old from Brolo with a minor under 17 years old from the same center and a Peugeot 208 at his side, with a woman at the wheel, they collided while proceeding in the same direction: the only certain thing is that it was not a head-on collision. On a very busy road, help was immediately called by the first passing motorists. Three 118 ambulances arrived on site and initially transported the three injured people to the emergency room of the “Barone Romeo” hospital in Patti. Here the health workers, having noted the seriousness of the conditions of the two young people, requested the intervention of the air ambulance, which landed in the area of the same hospital and which took off towards a hospital in Messina. The driver of the Peugeot, however, remained in Patti for observation with various traumas and injuries. The firefighters of the Patti detachment intervened and, for the investigations, the carabinieri of the Naso and Castell’Umberto stations and a gazelle from the Radiomobile Unit of the Patti Company. To allow emergency vehicles to intervene, the provincial road was temporarily closed to traffic until 8.30pm when the area was cleared and the tow trucks brought in the two cars which suffered considerable damage.
