The course, relating to the Department of Pharmacy and Health and Nutrition Sciences (DFSSN), has been approved with the green light of Anvur and represents a concrete response to the growing application for training in the health sector.
An important result for the territory, made possible also thanks to the direct and constant commitment of the President of the Order, Giuseppe Celestino, and the entire Board of Directors of the OFI.
The start of this degree course – declares President Celestino – is the result of a determined work, carried out with conviction and continuity from our order. We believed in this project from the beginning and supported it in all its phase, supporting the university and health institutions in a shared growth path.
The entire Board of Directors of OFI expressed great satisfaction for the activation of the course, defining it “a fundamental step for the territory and for the enhancement of the profession of the physiotherapist”. According to Celestino, the presence of a university course dedicated to physiotherapy in Cosenza “not only offers new opportunities to young people, but also contributes to raising the quality of local health care”.
The physiotherapy course is among the most requested nationally, with a number of questions that in 2024 has exceeded the available places seven times. Access will be regulated by a national call, with criteria defined on a ministerial level, in line with the other health professions.
President Celestino stressed that the Unical initiative “is perfectly in line with the objectives of the OFI, which for years has been fighting for quality training and for the recognition of the central role of the physiotherapist in the health service”. He also hoped for close collaboration between the University and the Order to guarantee a solid, updated and consistent training course with the needs of the world of work.
With this new course, UNICAL is confirmed as a reference point for health training in Southern Italy, offering future physiotherapists an avant -garde academic environment and a university citadel full of services and opportunities.
