Serious accident at work in the morning in Verbicaro. A 46-year-old man was injured after falling from scaffolding while carrying out construction work. According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the worker was carrying out activities at height when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost his balance and fell to the ground. The impact was violent and immediately triggered the alarm. The 118 health workers intervened on site and, having assessed the seriousness of the man’s condition, requested the intervention of the air ambulance. The helicopter landed in an emergency in the town’s sports field, allowing a rapid transfer of the injured person to the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza. The 46-year-old suffered several traumas and injuries, but according to what we understand, his life is not in danger. However, doctors are carefully monitoring the clinical picture, subjecting it to all the necessary tests. The Carabinieri also arrived at the site of the accident and started investigations to clarify the dynamics of the incident and verify compliance with the regulations in force regarding the prevention of accidents. An episode that rekindles attention on the issue of safety on construction sites, where the risk of accidents, especially when working at heights, remains particularly high.
