Crime unleashed in the industrial area of Vibo Valentia, in the territory falling within the neighboring municipality of Jonadi. In the night between last Wednesday and Thursday – but the news only leaked out in the last few hours – five companies that have been involved for years in various production sectors, from metalworking to IT and school and office equipment, all located a short distance from each other, were targeted by a commando with 12 gauge rifle shots. No longer, therefore, threatening letters or petrol cans on display in front of the businesses, but the use of gunshots.
From what we could learn, the lead discharges were aimed in particular at the windows and facades of the buildings that house the five activities. A sequence of rifle shots fired in rapid succession by people particularly “trained” in the use of weapons. The investigations to trace the perpetrators of the night raid – which created confusion and apprehension among the economic operators of the industrial area – are coordinated by the Vibo Valentia Police Headquarters which in the last few hours has already proceeded to interview some owners of the companies that have ended up in the crosshairs of crime.
