As the curtain falls on the Unity celebration, the Democratic Party takes stock on the political level of an event which, undoubtedly, represented a significant moment of participation and discussion. And the leitmotif around which the regional Dem party revolved was that of next year’s local elections, when the first force of the centre-left will attempt to form a coalition with similar parties and movements “to wrest the Municipality from the right”. Not a simple undertaking, for which the Democratic Party is ready to mobilize its general staff. The regional secretary Nicola Irto was very clear in this direction when he spoke «of Vibo as one of the main voting centers to be conquered». And it was too Elly Schlein who, in his final speech of the three days, recalled the need to work according to the elections. But above all it was the city secretary Francesco Colelli who directly asked the party’s national secretary for “help to reconquer Palazzo “Luigi Razza””. Not an easy goal, democrats know, for which – beyond the silences and occasional reflections – a name already exists and it is that of the former president of the Province Enzo Romeo. Supported by the entire Vibo base of the party, Romeo will be the name that the Democratic Party – in a few days from now – will make at the centre-left table.
