In contrast with the final result, in Villa victory of the broad candidate Frank Benedetto over Fabio Roscioli of the centre-right, winner of the by-elections. The cardiologist from Reggio received 43.28% of the votes (1,031 votes), Roscioli 946 preferences and Domenico Giannetta, of Futuro Nazionale, 15.28%. Numbers on which, once the polls are closed, the respective political expressions focus.
“The unity and formalization of the political offer pay off, with the centre-left parties in the lead (PD and Avs have been marching together for some time in Villa) and with the commitment of the mayor Caminiti who has worked, together with her team, enriching the progressive front”, underlines Enzo Musolino, local secretary of the Democratic Party, defining Villa as a “laboratory of national importance” and noting the “contradictory fragmentation of the many right-wing parties across the Strait”.
