A complex market, conditioned by different economic powers and by a general context that is not simple, but faced with seriousness and careful choices.
This is the budget traced by the general manager of Crotone, Raffaele Vrenna, at the end of the summer session. “I can give a judgment on the work done: it is not to me if it was good, I let it judge to others – explained Vrenna – It was a very difficult market, not only for the internal dynamics but also for the presence of clubs with great economic strength such as Trapani, Catania, Benevento and Salernitana. On the contrary, we for years have embarked on a reduction policy linked to the category, an inevitable but also forward -looking choice ».
The Crotone manager reiterated how sustainability remains the club’s priority, even at the cost of giving up some operation: “There was a well -started negotiation for Ricci, unfortunately it did not end. These are the risks of the market. To date there is only one redundant, but overall we are satisfied with what has been done. It was essential to move with balance ».
Crotone has lost important pieces such as Tumminello, Vitale, Silva and Oviszach, protagonists in terms of goals and assists. However, the company has been able to react, focusing on players of value and experience such as May, Zunno and Piovanello, as well as young people of perspective capable of guaranteeing enthusiasm and future. «I am very satisfied with this team, not only from a technical but above all human point of view. It is a group that runs, that struggles on every ball and that has shown great hunger already in the first releases. Compared to the past I see more spirit of sacrifice, also on the second balls. This is an important signal ».
Vrenna’s thanks also goes to coach Longo: «He understood the difficulties we have encountered, and underlined the work done by the company. This for me is a source of pride ».
Finally, look to the future, with realism but also with ambition: «I don’t know what Crotone’s role will be in this championship, but I am sure that we can make a dignified tournament. It will take commitment, compactness and that hint of luck that always makes the difference in football ».
