From 1 January 2026 the new will enter into force Waste bonus, an impact designed to support Italian families in economic difficulty in paying the Tari, the waste tax.
According to the estimates, they will be able to benefit from it four million families. The expected discount will be equal to 25% of the amount due, with access requirements related to the ISEE:
- Up to 9,530 euros for the generality of the nuclei
- Up to 20,000 euros for families with At least four dependent children
The bonus will be cumulative with other social concessions already in force, such as bonuses for Light, gas and water.
How it works and how to get it
The 2026 waste bonus was defined by Resolution 355 of the Arera (Authority of Energy, Networks and Environment), which establishes its methods of assignment and management.
Unlike many other incentives, It will not be necessary to submit an application: the facility will be automatically recognized to those who fall within the requirements. To be included, however, it is fundamental:
- Submit the single substitute declaration (DSU) to INPS
- Obtain the ISEE certificate by the expected thresholds
Times and methods of delivery
The bonus can be used once for each year of ISEE competence. Since the Tari is calculated annually, the discount will be applied directly to the bill, starting from January 1, 2026.
