In Rende the debate on waste management is reignited, this time around a choice that the Principe Administration claims as strategic: not to passively wait for the expiry of the agreement with Calabra Maceri, scheduled for May 2027, but to immediately start building the conditions for a new service model. It is in this context that the project of the “smart” Municipal Collection Center was born, a modern, technological and controlled structure, financed with 500 thousand euros already available and ready to be invested. The new CCR will be equipped with systems for user identification, weighing and traceability of waste disposal, as well as equipment dedicated to the management of the various waste fractions. The declared objective is twofold: to improve the efficiency of the service and to combat improper assignments and abandonments, phenomena which in recent years have fueled discontent and criticism in various neighborhoods of the city.
