Summer comes into full swing and, with it, water consumption inevitably increases in the northern area of Messina, where the massive influx of holidaymakers adds to the resident population in this period. A pressure which, combined with the structural deficit of networks, plants and tanks, is putting local supply to the test.
Following the numerous reports received in the last 36 hours from the village of Spartà, AMAM technicians took action to carry out targeted checks and efficiency measures on water flows. The objective is twofold: to optimize ordinary supply and promptly intercept any losses or faults along the supply and tertiary networks.
To deal with the critical issues of the hot season, the Viale Giostra company has started a timely control of flow rates throughout the area and has set up a telephone assistance service on 090.3687711 (active 7 days a week) to provide information and collect support requests.
To alleviate the inconvenience, the replacement service via tankers has been strengthened. Furthermore, fixed supply points remain operational 24 hours a day where citizens can obtain water in total autonomy.
New distribution times: available online
Given the overall water availability, the company had to remodulate supply times throughout the city. Although distribution times are reduced, AMAM’s declared objective is to guarantee equal coverage of all areas served. Here are the distribution times
