A woman presumably suffering from cardiac arrest died in the Tyrrhenian town, despite attempts to resuscitate her by volunteer operators who intervened at her home, while the alerted medical vehicle did not arrive on site because it was involved in a road accident that occurred on the Ss18. In fact, there were some volunteers present in the lady’s home who attempted to resuscitate her for some time, unfortunately without success.
The medical vehicle – which was returning from Praia a Mare and whose operators had in the meantime been tasked with ascertaining that the woman had now died – had, in fact, collided, for reasons yet to be ascertained, with another car carrying two elderly people, who remained unharmed, near a roundabout in the Diamante area, suddenly interrupting its journey. On board the emergency vehicle there were two operators, in addition to the driver, all of whom were then transported, in turn, by colleagues who had intervened in the meantime, to the emergency room of the Cetrara hospital. The doctor did not suffer any injuries, while the nurse and the driver suffered injuries judged to heal in seven days.
The police intervened at the site of the accident involving the medical vehicle to ascertain the dynamics of the accident and carry out initial investigations, together with Anas personnel, who managed the traffic.
