Of the 60 parliamentarians present in the ARS hall, 26 voted in favor of the amendment which also contained the “fake” provision of MP Ismaele La Vardera, 14 were against while the others did not express their opinion. Among the yes votes were also those of three deputies from the Democratic Party and two from the South and the North.

The trap rule

A trick law which allocated 1 million euros for Municipalities with a non-existent legal form and presented by the leader of Controcorrente to demonstrate the ease and carelessness with which laws are approved in Sicily. From the parliamentary report of the ARS session and from the voting spreadsheet, Ansa reconstructed what happened.

The reconstruction of what happened

It was December 20th last year, at 10.18pm, when the ARS, in the final rush on the maneuver worth over 1 billion euros (the green light will arrive during the night), put a parliamentary amendment to the vote. It is a text of 8 paragraphs, so-called outside the bag: each of these paragraphs is proposed by majority and opposition deputies (except the M5s), the last is signed by La Vardera and is superimposed on the text of the first seven. The entire amendment is transmitted to MPs’ tablets for consultation before the vote.
