Municipality of Pettineo, councilor and assessor waive compensation

Rosario Di Marco and Gianfranco Gentilerespectively councilor and president of the Council of the Municipality of Pettineo, in the province of Messina, have formalized, with a note addressed to the head of the Economic-Financial area Rosario Barberi Frandanisa and to the mayor of Pettineo Dominic Ruffinothe renounce the office allowance due to them for the remaining months of 2024.

The sums resulting from the resignation of Councillor Di Marco will be used, at his request, for the purchase of a defibrillator for the Luigi Pirandello secondary school in Pettineo and currently unprovided, while those deriving from the savings of the office allowance not received by the President of the Council, Gentile, will be intended for the economy of the institution.

“We are convinced – declare Di Marco and Gentile, both members of the Christian Democrats – that in a delicate historical moment like the current one in which there is an ongoing economic crisis that is affecting all social strata of the country, it is necessary to work, each for their own skills, in order to realize concrete initiatives aimed at the common good.
