The new year opens with bad news for Messina motorists; according to the Facile.it Observatory, car insurance rates continue to grow, so much so that, in December 2024, to insure a four-wheel vehicle in the province of Messina, on average, 682.72 euros were needed, i.e. ‘8.6% more than six months earlier.
Furthermore, looking at the entire region, it emerges that for more than 41,000 Sicilian motorists who have reported an accident with fault, further increases will be triggered in 2024 linked to the worsening of the merit class. If in the region the share of drivers affected by price increases due to an at-fault accident is equal to 1.69% of the total, in the province of Messina the percentage reaches 1.61%.
Analyzing the sample on a provincial basis, it emerges that the Sicilian area that recorded the highest percentage of drivers who, in 2024, reported an accident with fault is Enna (2.47%), followed by Trapani (2.11%) , Ragusa (1.86%) and Syracuse (1.74%). Continuing to scroll down the ranking, Palermo (1.67%), Messina (1.61%), Catania (1.57%) and Caltanissetta (1.52%) are positioned at a short distance from each other. Agrigento closes the ranking (1.22%).
