Salwan Momikathe man who burned the Koran four times in as many events in Sweden in 2023, was killed at home yesterday around 11 pm. The police arrested five people. According to a first reconstruction it was in connection on social media.
“I’m afraid of being the next,” says his partner and accomplice Salwan Najem Which today should have been in court, together with the killed man, for the sentence in the process for incitement to racial hatred.
In a note, the police explain that she was called for a shooting last night in Sodertalje. When the agents arrived, they found “a wounded man who was taken to the hospital” who was later dead.
In August, Momika was accused, together with Salwan Najem, of “agitation against an ethnic group” on four occasions during the summer of 2023. According to the accusation, the duo profaned the Koran, also burning it, and made comments contemptuous on Muslims. The relationships between Sweden and different countries of the Middle East have been influenced by the protests of the two men. The Stockholm District Court postponed to 11 on Monday 3 February “as it was confirmed that one of the defendants died and the sentence must be adapted”.
It seems that Salwan Momika had a live broadcast on social media when they shot himbut the police cannot confirm it. His partner and accomplice Salwan Najem told the Swedish newspaper to Svensk Dagbladet: «I am afraid of being the neighbor on the list. That I will make the same end ».
For Swedish premier there is the risk “foreign power”
The Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kritstersson said that there is the “risk” that the killing of Salwan Momika, an Iraqi refugee of Christian faith that repeatedly burned the Koran, may have been committed “in connection with a foreign power”.
“I can guarantee that security services are deeply involved, because there is obviously the risk of a connection with a foreign power,” said Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at a press conference, answering a question about the murder that took place last night south of Stockholm.
