University residences to private individuals, so the University of Messina is looking for a turning point

One of the painful notes that emerged from Censis report On Italian universities it was, for theUniversity of Messinathat relating to beds available for off -site students. A front on which something could change closely, both thanks to 190 seats of the former Hotel Riviera, built by the University itself, both for the 240 places which, sooner or later, will return to the student house in via Cesare Battistiwhich instead falls within the sphere of competence of the Arsu, in addition to ambitious private projects – see next – that “risk” to increase the numbers of Messina over time.
But the changes could also be of the other type because, following an idea present from the beginning in the governance of the rector Giovanna Spatarithe university is trying another card: the outsourcing of the management of university residences. Starting right from the two “jewels” of the University: the already existing and operational one, the former Liberty hotel in via 1st September, and the other still in the making, the former Riviera, in fact. If the experiment should succeed, it could be extended to the residences of the former statistics institute, the Annunziata pole, Villa Amalia and the Pavilion A of the Polyclinic.
