The six soldiers, four of the Guardia di Finanza and two of the Coast Guard, involved in the investigation on the shipwreck of the Barchconi in the Spree of Cutro were indictedin which, on the night of February 26, 2023, 94 migrants died, 35 of which are minors.
The decision was made by Crotone’s gup, Elisa Marchetto, at the end of the preliminary hearing. The six soldiers are contested by the crimes of culpable shipwreck and multiple manslaughter in relation to the failure to activate, the night of the shipwreck, the SAR, the plan for research and rescue at sea.
