«In the five finalist books there is a mature relationship between expressive research and formal control. There is no research of effect, nor adhesion to recognizable formulas – commented the president of Jury Emanuele Trevi -. The stories are held away from spectacularization, but they let strong tensions emerge: family relationships, body, margins, refusal or loss. What is striking – or perhaps it is better to say: what remains – is a loyalty to complexity. It is a type of literature that does not feel the need to explain too much, and for this reason it manages to generate meaning ».
