The general commander of the body of the Port Authorities – Coast Guard, Admiral Inspector Capo Nicola Carlone, visited the Port Authority of Milazzo, accompanied by the Maritime Director of Eastern Sicily, recipient Raffaele Macauda.
To welcome Admiral Carlone was the head of the Maritime Compartment of Milazzo, a captain of Frigate Alessandro Sarro, together with all the personal deployed.
During the meeting, Carlone greeted all the military and civilians present, expressing appreciation for the daily commitment carried out at the service of the community, with particular reference to the intense operational activity that characterizes the summer period and the proximity of the mid -August.
The Admiral underlined the strategic importance of the Milazzese territory, a gateway to the Aeolian Islands and home of a protected marine area, where the protection of the marine and coastal environment is combined with the management of a significant tourist flow.

He later met the mayor of the city of Milazzo Pippo Midili and the president of the protected marine area of “Capo Milazzo” Giovanni Mangano. The meeting, in the premises of the Port Authority, took place in a friendly climate and full institutional collaboration, sharing the commitment to safeguarding the marine environment, the safe use of the coasts and the enhancement of the resources of the territory.
