The meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, the day of August. This was confirmed by the spokesman for the White House, Karoline Leavitt, explaining that the summit was requested by the Russian president. “The goal – he said – is to have a better understanding of how we can end this war”.

On the Ukrainian side, the president Volodymyr Zelensky defined the appointment as “a personal victory” for Putin. “First of all – he said – he will have a meeting on the American territory, which is a personal victory for him”. According to Zelensky, the summit will allow the leader of the Kremlin to “get out of isolation” and could slow down any new US sanctions against Moscow.
