Ferragosto from the nightmare for the passengers of the Crotone-Rome flight made by Aeroitalia on behalf of Skyalps, in the context of the territorial continuity subsidized with 13 million euros. The plane, scheduled at the start at 7.30, took off only at 4 pm, accumulating over eight hours late for a series of events. After the regular boarding on the ATR72 at 8.15, the passengers were forced to return to aerostation at 9 for technical checks. It was therefore necessary to wait for a new plane.
At 2 pm an Aeritalia ATR was landed from Ancona, but a fire near the airport caused the temporary closure of the airspace and further delays. A helicopter and a Canadair have been engaged for more than an hour in shutdown operations a few hundred meters from the Crotone airport. The plane to Rome started from Crotone at 4 pm.
