Thousands of swimmers stormed the beaches of Giardini Naxos, in the Messina area last night. In the area, in the area between Recanati and Schisò, the prohibitions were set up, hundreds of curtains to welcome the August and the local police, port authorities and carabinieri were carried out, who attempted to make the gazebo and curtains dismantle. Attempts to set up bonfires are also blocked. Moments of apprehension have lived in the Recanati area because a restaurateur, in an attempt to limit access to his toilet, was attacked by two foreign tourists. The restaurateur was taken to the nearby San Vincenzo hospital in Taormina where he was sutured a head injury. In the morning, around 5 am, the checks continued by a small task force in which some local administrators also took part. Quiet night, however, in the nearby beaches of Taormina: on the beach of Mazzeo, Isolabella and Villagonia there were no critical issues. The mayor of Taormina, Cateno De Luca, together with his “army” (as he defined it), carried out checks starting from the early hours of the morning on beaches still without curtains, fires or gazebo.
