Italy of free time is a mosaic of companies that, between sports, sea, culture and fun, make up a widespread and varied offer. According to the analysis of Unioncamere-Infocampo on Moving data, 41,451 activities engaged in sectors ranging from outdoor experiences to nightlife, from major events to local attractions. The heart of the sector beats mainly in the activities related to entertainment and fun (from traditional rides to festive animation services; passing for the management of other more innovative activities such as Escape Room, Laser Game, Airsoft and Paintball fields) which with 9,068 companies (21.9% of the total) guides the national ranking. Sports organizations and events follow with 7,944 activities (19.2%), a sign of the rooting of sport organized in the social and tourist life of the country, and the management of bathing establishments with 7,352 companies (17.7%), a true garrison of the summer imagination along the coasts of the boot.

Just under the podium there are fitness centers (5,771 activities, 13.9%), which intercept the growing demand for well -being and physical form, and discos and dance halls (3,236 companies, 7.8%), which maintain a leading role in nightlife and urban and tourist entertainment. The contribution of the management of entertainment appliances (games rooms, etc.) is also important, which with 3,984 activities (9.6%) complete the widespread playful offer on the territory. The other sports activities follow (2,250 companies, 5.4%), which include disciplines and practices that are not framed in the main segments (for example referees, judges and chronometrists; motor vehicles, cynodromes, hippodrome and handling; fishing and sports hunting reserves or activities related to the training of animals for sport or entertainment), and fun/thematic parks (1,039 structures. 2.5%), attractions that combine show, free time and enhancement of local resources. On the territorial level, Lombardy (5,599 companies), Lazio (4,240) and Campania (4,076) dictate the pace. Lombardy dominates in organized sport, Lazio shines in fitness centers and in the related activities, while Campania imposes itself in the panorama of entertainment.

In detail, in Fitness Centers Lombardy is in first place with 1,133 activities (19.63%), followed by Lazio (550) and Campania (529). As for sports and events, Lombardy leads 1,668 companies (21.0%), in front of Lazio (1,034) and Emilia Romagna (856). Also in other sports activities Lombardy maintains the primacy with 382 activities (16.98%), followed by Lazio (279) and Tuscany (195).

Moving on to fun and thematic parks, Lazio and Campania have almost appeared with, respectively, 103 and 102 structures, while Puglia follows with 90. In discos and dance halls, Lombardy is in the lead with 496 companies (15.33%), followed by Tuscany (329) and Emilia Romagna (317). The management of bathing establishments instead sees Emilia Romagna at the top with 1,048 activities (14.25%), in front of Tuscany (918) and Liguria (807). In the entertainment device sector – games rooms and the like – Campania is clearly first with 661 companies (16.59%), followed by Sicily (398) and Lombardy (485). Finally, in other entertainment and fun activities, Campania confirms its leadership with 1,217 activities (13.42%), in front of Lombardy (1,159) and Sicily (965).

At the provincial level, in the Fitness Centers Guide Milan with 430 activities, followed by Rome (419) and Naples (284). For sports organizations and sporting events Rome is first with 849 companies, followed by Milan (473) and Turin (341). In other sports activities Rome is still in the lead with 217 activities, in front of Milan (134) and Florence (56).
The fun and thematic parks see Rome first with 76 structures, followed by Naples (48) and Lucca (14). In the discos and dance halls, Milan excels with 209 companies, followed by Turin (121) and Florence (61). The management of bathing establishments crowns Savona with 445 activities, followed by Lucca (400) and Rimini (409). For the games rooms, Naples is at the top with 357 activities, in front of Rome (294) and Cosenza (66). Finally, in other entertainment and fun activities guide Rome with 717 companies, followed by Naples (614) and Milan (439).
