A nightmare lasted months, made of stalking, anonymous rings and chases by car, is over thanks to the intervention of the carabinieri of the Melito Porto Salvo station. In recent days, the military have executed an order of application of the precautionary measure of house arrest with an electronic bracelet, issued by the judicial authority against a 60 -year -old of the place.
The victim, a 50 -year -old, had found the courage to denounce the spiral of harassment and threats that for some time had forced her to live in an atmosphere of constant terror. Obsessive calls, daily stalking and even chases with a van – which on more than one occasion could have caused serious consequences – had transformed his daily life into a nightmare.
The story of the woman, supported by the investigations of the carabinieri, revealed a series of episodes of disturbing gravity: dozens of phone calls per day, often from anonymous number, insistence also towards her husband and an episode in which the victim was forced to take refuge in a public exercise in order to escape his persecutor. Precisely the images of the video surveillance have confirmed the truthfulness of the facts.
Street and also marked by panic attacks, the woman has often had to resort to anxiolytic drugs in order to face her day. In the end, exasperated, he turned to the carabinieri who immediately activated the investigative activity, culminating in the arrest of the alleged stalker.
The carabinieri weapon continues to keep the attention high towards people in conditions of particular vulnerability, renewing their commitment in combating persecutory acts and gender -based violence. At the same time it carries on a constant awareness work, inviting anyone in uncomfortable situations or threatens to contact the nearest carabinieri station without hesitation.
