Two commercial catering businesses located on the coast of Strongoli, in the Crotonese, were sanctioned for illegal occupation of maritime state -owned areas by the men of the Port Authority of Crotone who seized 800 square meters of structures and works asserted to commercial activities.

In a first restaurant, an abusive occupation of about 700 square meters of state property was ascertained, with a wooden artifact used as a pizzeria, a large area paved with kiosks and gazebos, as well as umbrellas and deck chairs. The fixed structures were seized, while the area intended for umbrellas and deckchairs was freed immediately and returned to public use.

In a second exercise, always used as a restaurant, the military identified an additional abusive occupation of about 300 square meters, delimited by fenced and used for tables and chairs. Also in this case the area was seized in the absence of a state concession.

The owners of the activities were referred to the Public Prosecutor of Crotone. At the same time, the Municipality of Strongoli will be interested in the quantification and recovery of the indemnities due to the Treasury.
