An appeal of pain and hope comes from D.ssa Angela Giaquinta, mother of Filippo Verterame, the 22 -year -old young man who was seriously injured during the violent brawl that took place on Tuesday morning in the seaside resort of Le Cinella, in Isola Capo Rizzuto.
The woman, through a social message, asked everyone a moment of silence, respect and prayer for the son, who struggles between life and death after being hit by a stab wound in the throat.
“Filippo – writes the mother – is just 22 years old, but has a maturity, a dedication and love for our land that could be attributed to those who lived much longer. After his studies he committed himself with passion to enhance the territory through tourism and welcome. For three years he has managed an accommodation facility in Le Cinnamella and, with the Asylos Association and many friends, has created the first inclusive beach: a project of which he was deeply proud ».
Words full of emotion and written in a difficult moment, while Filippo struggles between life and death and which also become a response to the controversies and insinuations that appeared on social media in the hours following the fight. “The superficial comments on social media – underlines the mother – added anger to immense pain. How can you describe himself without knowing him a respectable boy like a thug dedicated to brawls and violence? Nobody has to afford anymore ».
The mother strongly claims the honesty and commitment of her son and invites those who know him to do the same: «Do not allow his name to be muddied by associating him with those who attacked him, to those who flaunt illegality in the light of the sun. Filippo has always undertaken honestly, ‘annoying’ perhaps those who illegally exploit our land without respect. He is only guilty of working with sincerity and love ».
Finally, the most heartfelt appeal: «We ask respect for our family and above all for Filippo in this difficult moment. Please pray for him, to avoid defamations or insinuations, and to let justice take its course.
