An extraordinary demonstration of strength and joy of life that no adversity can scratch. A simple love story, like the desire to dance that every girl nourishes within itself, and natural, like the complicity between two sisters.
They are Chiara and Sara Visalli, not yet 24 years old the older one, 22 years old, the second, united by an innate passion for the cultivated dance from very young. Their story does not need words but expresses itself through movements capable of breaking down any physical and mental barrier, giving shape to that dream that life at a certain point to Chiara seemed to have torn forever. However, she was stronger than that destiny suddenly presented one morning in September 2007, when she was just 6 years old. The malaise at school, the visit to the hospital, the immediate transfer to Messina and the terrible discovery of a benign tumor mass to the brain. A very low probability of successful surgery, followed by days of coma and almost miraculous awakening days.
Since that day, Chiara fights his tenacious struggle for life, forced into a wheelchair in a transformed and hardly marked body, but supported by the infinite love of Sara, of mom Donatella and Dad Antonio, found the strength to return to the time as he dreamed as a child. Together on stage or in a courtyard, in the living room of the house or on the parquet of the gym, Chiara and Sara thus become one soul and a single body.
“Everything was born as a game about ten years ago when we had a surprise for mom’s birthday,” Sara Visalli, today a university student of obstetrics and gynecology in Messina tells us. In December 2014, the first recited in public for a solidarity event in the Santagatese center, an performance capable of touching deep ropes and making the hearts vibrate, followed by several others including that on the notes of “Take care of me” by Simone Crisricchi, an emblematic text for their history.
The videos with Chiara’s choreography and Sara soon became viral, reaching the same Roman singer -songwriter who got in touch with the family by making friends and inviting the girls several times to perform during his concert. Occasion concretized on August 14 in Trapani, yet another stage of the story of the two sisters already landed in 2018 in “Dancing with the stars” on Raiuno, exciting the whole of Italy.
“It is Chiara to choose the songs to be interpreted that we then propose to our teacher Daniela Alberto to mount the choreography, and together with her we begin to try and try again – explains Sara -. Balling with her is absolutely natural, also because she is a very careful partner, alarm and punctilious enough to reproach me if I happen to make something wrong ».
“One of the most important aspects is that they are not choreography mounted starting from Chiara’s disability but allowing her to do everything she wants and manages to do,” adds Mamma Donatella describing the incredible determination of her daughter who, in the meantime, has graduated with the highest votes in the high school of human sciences. “Today he manages to do many things that he could not before, from the split to the Arabesque, with a force that no one could imagine and also from the neurological point of view there have been imported improvements that surprised the same medical team that follows it”.
An exceptional testimony that can be a stimulus for those who live similar suffering. “This is all this that holds clearly, because it gives her that sense of challenge to do more and more – underline mom Donatella and dad Antonio -. We are lucky parents by seeing Chiara expressing in everything she loves and makes her happy ».
