Hamas accused Israel of having committed a “aggravated war crime” by bombing the Nasser hospital in the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern part of Gaza, killing at least 20 people including 5 journalists. Reuters reports on the website.
In a statement, Hamas said that the attack is part of Israel’s “genocidal war” in Gaza and has condemned attacks against groups protected by international law. Hamas has urged the international community and Arab and Islamic leaders to put pressure on the United States and other Israeli allies to stop the offensive and prevent what has called a “systematic extermination” in the enclave. Israel denied the accusations of violation of international law and blames Hamas for the suffering in Gaza after the attacks of the militiamen of 7 October 2023 against Israel.
