An extraordinary event has colored the beaches of Casabianca, a small coastal village of the city of the Strait. In fact, in the night, the eggs of Tartaruga Marina were hatched, returning to the sea dozens of small turtles that reached the water among the attentive looks of the volunteers and curious present.

The nesting had been reported a few weeks ago and, after a wait of trepidation, the eggs have finally given rise to a moment of rare beauty and ecological meaning.

The event represents a positive sign for Mediterranean biodiversity and confirms the increasingly important role of the Sicilian coasts as a reproduction habitat of the Caretta Caretta, a protected species at risk of extinction.
