The costs of the RDC in Calabria
In the first semester of implementing citizenship income, in 2019, that is, during the start of the measure, Calabria had 62,584 beneficiaries families (of which more than 90% referring to RDC only and the rest of the citizenship pension), equal to about 8% of resident families. The average monthly amount received was 493 euros, higher than the national average, with a total expenditure that can be estimated at around 370 million euros per year.
