Language as a conceptual vehicle of social Empowerment and cardinal tool in the fight against violence: this is the leitmotiv of the first edition of the cultural festival “Stories and reflections – Empowerment of people and communities”, organized by the Contemporary Art Study Center Gianfranco Labrosciano of Cosenza.
From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September the Centro Studi of Contemporary Art, dedicated to the Calabrian critic and writer, will organize a series of events, exhibitions and appointments dedicated to the conquest of self -awareness and control over their choices, decisions and actions, both in the context of personal relationships and in that of political and social life, putting the language and communication aimed at becoming emotional Aleph to be opposed to violence at the center of this path, with particular attention to violence Woman.
The program will open with Friday 12 September, at 10.00 with the community languages event. Urban trekking in the historic center of Rende edited by divine itineraries, a journey into the ancient makes, to discover their secrets and mysteries, returning to lay their eyes on artistic, architectural and landscape beauty, of which you risk losing cultural awareness. A unique opportunity to discover the language of the places and communities that live them.
On Saturday 13 September the Festival will raise the Alt Art Park of Art at its location: inside the structure “Women’s looks” will be inaugurated, photographic exhibition of the artist of the film and director Ivana Russo. The exhibition that can be visited until September 29, tells the female universe through the power of women’s gaze.
Also the Rendese Art Park will host, starting from 10.00, three talk, dedicated to the language of gender -based violence.

The work will introduce the lawyer Mariuccia Campolo, president of the Women on the way association.
The panel, Antonella Veltri, former president of the national network of anti -violence centers, women on the net against violence – to say, and the founding member of the “Roberta Lanzino” anti -violence, will moderate the panel.
In the afternoon, at 5.00 pm, in a moderate meeting by Antonella Veltri and dedicated to the enhancement of the concept of memory, the archive of Lea Melandri, an Italian activist and essayist, curated by Anna Petrungaro and the journalist Angela Azzaro, will be presented. The opening of the archive, rich in iconic material and with great cultural value in the form of testimony, will be introduced by Mariuccia Campolo.
On Sunday morning it will be dedicated to learning and discovery of words related to the concept of storytelling story, with the construction journalism laboratory: to contrast violence against women through language, edited by Nadia Somma and Stefania Rossi, always at the Alt Art Park, from 10.30 to 17.00.
