In a coordinated and timely operation, the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Locri, supported by the Squadrone Elportato Cacciatori di Calabria and the 8th Core helicopter of Vibo Valentia, have crossed a flourishing cultivation of drugs, arresting a man believed to be responsible for the illegal production of Indian hemp.
The intervention of the military took place in the field of services aimed at contrasting the drug dealing, with in -depth checks in the area and targeted surveillance on isolated areas. In the municipality of Careri, a plantation of about fifty plants was identified, all in an advanced state of growth and with a variable height between 1.5 and 2 meters, in all probability to the illegal market of drug trafficking. The man was surprised on the spot while irrigating and treated the plants, engaged in an activity that, if not intercepted, would have guaranteed a huge profit to local crime.
The intervention of the military, who blocked him and seized the entire cultivation, was immediate.
