Moments of tension between Nice of Sicily and Furci Siculo, where an attempted car theft turned into a full -speed pursuit through the streets of the center. It all started in Nice, where two men – both from Messina – stole a Fiat Uno, thinking of getting away with it.
The owner of the vehicle, however, immediately noticed the theft, did not waste time: he started on the trail of the thieves aboard his scooter, also managing to promptly alert the carabinieri. The report proved to be decisive. A patrol of the weapon intercepted the vehicle to Furci Siculo, starting a chase on the streets of the town.
The escape of the criminals took dangerous sections: in an attempt to make their tracks lose, the fugitives took the National via the Via Nazionale, perhaps with the intention of reaching the highway. They also caused the fall of two boys in the scooter, fortunately without serious consequences. The race, however, stopped at the intersection of via Pirandello and via Verga, where the military managed to block the car and stop one of the two occupants. The second thief, however, managed to run away on foot and is still sought after.
