After the reports of citizens on the presence of stray dogs in the Gazzi district, the Municipality of Messina has started targeted checks and operations to guarantee public safety and the well -being of animals. The councilor for animal welfare, Massimiliano Minutoli. In particular, the recovery of a black dog identified as Capobranco, believed to be a priority for the management of the pack, has been arranged. The operations, underlines the administration, will be carried out in full compliance with the current regulations on animal protection.
For several days the personnel in charge has been carrying out inspections in the areas between Gescal and Maregrosso houses, where the presence of dogs is concentrated. Councilor Minutoli also specified that not all specimens are stray: some are equipped with a collar, a sign that they could belong to private individuals.
The Municipality has announced a strengthening of prevention and control activities, with constant monitoring and interventions to reduce the risk of new episodes.
