Bridge on the Strait, Nibali Conti: “We find points of understanding on the real priorities”

For too long, the political and media debate has been concentrated on the rhetoric of the bridge over the strait. In yesterday’s edition of the Gazzetta del Sud, the new president of Federologist, Davide Falteri, relaunches the question in the key of “great opportunity”: exaggerated emphasis to divert attention from what the South really needs, in particular Sicily. It is not a bridge that serves, but investments in basic infrastructures, education, work and sustainable development. Falteri succeeds Luigi Merlo who, although not excluding the bridge, raised concrete issues, such as the minimum height not to hinder naval transit. A pragmatic approach, centered on the actual logistical and port utility in Sicily. The new course of Federogistica appears more oriented to propaganda, perhaps in order not to disconnect the establishment. Falteri evokes logistics as a national development engine and makes the bridge a “symbol” of a hypothetical Italian miracle.
