An anesthesiologist in England has left a patient sedated in the operating room to enjoy an intimate encounter with a nurse. The episode, which might seem taken from a grotesque comedy, actually took place at Tameside Hospital, in the Greater Manchester area.
The protagonist of the story is Dr. Suhail Anjum who, in September 2023, moved away from the operating room, leaving the asleep patient unattended. A colleague then surprised him in unequivocal attitudes with a nurse. The fact emerged publicly during the procedure with which the doctor himself, who returned to work in Pakistan, asked to be able to return to the United Kingdom.
Anjum recognized its faults, defining his indefensible and dishonorable conduct, as reported by the BBC. He explained that he had gone through a period of strong stress, aggravated by personal problems and the premature birth of his daughter, and that he had felt the need to take a break of relief.
The time of absence from the operating block was about eight minutes, at the end of which the doctor regularly resumed the intervention. Fortunately, according to what has been ascertained, the patient has not undergone any negative consequence.
