In recent months, following his request, the municipal department had ordered the installation of bollard arches to prevent wild parking. However, the measure affected only the area immediately in front of the entrances and outputs of the institutes, leaving the rest of the sidewalk uncovered.
The result, explains Signorino, is that the abusive parking continues to occupy most of the pedestrian space, forcing students, parents and people with disabilities to move to the roadway between the cars in transit, with evident risks for safety.
«I understand the difficulties related to the lack of parking in the area – adds the councilor – but the priority must be the safety of citizens, especially the most vulnerable. It is urgent to extend the installation of the arches along the entire sidewalk in front of the schools ».
