At the beginning of the new school year, the metropolitan archbishop of Catanzaro-Squillace, Msgr. Claudio Maniago, has addressed a message to students, teachers and the whole world of school. With words full of encouragement and trust, the prelate stressed that the time of the school represents not only an opportunity for cultural growth, but above all a precious opportunity to learn to live.

Msgr “Do not allow the spiral of hatred and war that threatens the world – he said – to contaminate your dreams: keep your look fixed on the horizon and do not remain imprisoned in your limits or in your wounds”.

The Archbishop also recalled the testimony of Carlo Acutis, a blessed young man who knew how to live everyday life having Jesus as a travel companion. An example close to students, capable of inspiring trust and courage on the way.

In his message, Msgr. Maniago reiterated the commitment of the Church to walk next to the world of school, offering prayer, support and collaboration: “Count on me – he wrote – on my prayer, on my support and my willingness to build the new culture of hope with you”.

His wish thus translates into a concrete invitation: to make school not only a place of learning, but a space for meeting, peace and reconciliation, capable of educating the new generations to become manufacturers of a better future.
