It is now official: from May 2026 Sardinia with Olbia airport will have the direct connection with the New York JFK airport, operated by the Delta Airlines company which officially inserted the island among the European destinations served.
The American airline, the third in the world, had announced the desire to open up to new destinations last August, giving its customers the opportunity and employees to participate in a survey and vote between three destinations: Ibiza, Malta and Olbia. To win it, with a high satisfaction index, was the “Costa Smeralda” airport.

A two -year work, which started like a bet and a dream, now become reality. “When two years ago we talked about it in our offices we almost laughing – says the Ad Geasar Pippobello – but this does not mean that behind our idea there were no solid foundations for the knowledge of the market and requests”.
“After probing the airline market to identify one, we presented the concrete data of Olbia airport and involved all the actors of the supply chain to best tell Sardinia as a destination – explains Mario Garau, Development manager Geasar route – now we will have an important connection from May to October with four flights per week made by Boeing 767 aircraft”.
