The State Police arrested a 54 -year -old from Rosarno, held responsible for aggravated road murder. The tragedy took place on the evening of Saturday 2 August along the provincial road that connects Rosarno to San Ferdinando, when, around 21:00, several motorists reported a serious road accident to the single emergency number.
A state police patrol intervened on the spot that has found a head -on collision between two cars. Despite the immediate rescue attempts by the policemen, for the two occupants of the car from Rosarno, a couple of spouses, there was nothing to do. The third involved, however, reported non -serious trauma and was out of danger of life.
Thanks to the findings made by the agents of the Public Security Commissariat of Gioia Tauro and the subsequent investigations coordinated by the judicial authority, it was possible to reconstruct the dynamics of the dramatic accident: it emerged, in fact, that the driver of the other vehicle, responsible for the crash, was positive for the alcohol test and the use of drugs, in particular benzodiazepine.
In light of the reconstruction of the facts and the investigations carried out by the policemen, on 12 September the man was achieved by the precautionary measure of house arrest requested by the public prosecutor and issued by the judge for preliminary investigations at the Palmi Court.
