Served checks of the local police on the occasion of the Marian holidays in Reggio Calabria. The agents, engaged in extraordinary services in Pentimele and in the city center, have sifted through the fair and the main commercial areas to combat abusiveness and guarantee compliance with the rules to protect operators in order.
The operation led to the seizure of about 11 thousand items, between linen, tools and mechanical precision material, for an estimated value of 40 thousand euros. Ten street vendors without authorizations for the employment of public land, sanctioned administratively.
The most relevant case concerns a non -EU trader residing in another province, surprised with over 100 square meters of illegally occupied area and goods exposed without any qualification. For him, penalties were triggered for about 5,100 euros and the total seizure of goods.
At the same time, the local police conducted, together with the Asp food hygiene service, targeted controls against the botulinum risk in the administration premises. In an exercise in the center, a food deposit was deferred not suitable from the hygienic-sanitary point of view.
Overall, the sanctions imposed amounts to around 20 thousand euros. The municipal administration underlines how the controls will also continue in the coming weeks, with the aim of safeguarding the safety of consumers and loyal competition between commercial operators.
