Inspection of the mayor of Reggio Calabria, Giuseppe Falcomatà at the Catona football stadium, at the end of the renovation works that have affected the entire sporting structure. Together with the first citizen, the deputy mayor Paolo Brunetti and the commissioner Carmelo Romeo were present. The system only awaits the testing phase before the definitive operation and assignment. The economic commitment of Palazzo San Giorgio was 887,000 euros to be worth on POC funds, with a programming of interventions that made the stadium one of the most modern structures dedicated to football in Calabria, approved up to the Serie D championships. Thanks to the intervention scheduled with the sporting needs of the many enthusiasts of the territory, the stadium was equipped with a playing ground with a synthetic turf (in the past it was in the ground) irrigation.
There is also a modern lighting system with four lighthouse towers with LED lights. The premises that host the changing rooms, warehouse and deposit, the grandstand for spectators with an administrative local local ones have been totally renovated and adequate. The intervention also concerned the delimitation of the sports area and the video surveillance facility which will guarantee greater control and safety. The Catona stadium represents a new commitment by the municipal administration led by the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà, aimed at the enhancement of the village of Catona.
The object in the recent past of a heavy act of vandalism and intimidation with the stake that destroyed the previous grassy mantle, the new stadium will guarantee, after testing, a marked improvement in the sporting quality dedicated to football, aimed mainly at the many young reggini. Following the inspection, the first citizen had the opportunity to meet a delegation from the Catona Calcio club, with which he shared a recreational moment dedicated to him for his birthday. “Attention to the redevelopment of our neighborhoods and villages is one of the main commitments of my mandate as a first citizen – said Falcomatà – In Catona we have carried out significant interventions, among these I remember the social project ‘after us’, which guarantees safety and tranquility to a fragile part of our society.
