On 18 September, as part of the participation in exchanges with judicial authorities of other European Union countries organized by the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN), the Prosecutor of the Republic of Vibo Valentia – dr. Camillo Falvo and the deputy prosecutor Dr. Eugenia Belmonte, went together with four European magistrates at the “G. Vizzari” barracks of the body.
The authorities were accepted by Colonel Eugenio Bua, provincial commander of Vibo Valentia, and Lieutenant Colonel Stefano Leccia, commander of the Aeronavale Operational Department of Vibo Valentia.
During the visit, some of the joints of the provincial command were shown, including the operating room which, compared to the similar joints of the body controls present in other provinces, takes on significant relevance as it is responsible for managing the aeronaval operations of the whole region and, therefore, equipped with sophisticated control systems.
On this occasion, the magistrates observed, live, the management of an aeronaval operation in progress in the Calabrian Ionian area.
Subsequently, the characteristics of the entire infrastructure which also includes the naval station dependent on the Roan, with an important technical-logistical pole appointed to the execution of the maintenance, under the insurcing regime, of the entire Calabrian fleet and the bordering regions were illustrated.
The visit continued with the boarding of the entire delegation on two very fast lookouts of the naval station and the performance of an aeronaval exercise, which was attended by a helicopter of the Aerial Section of Lamezia Terme, an opportunity to highlight the transversality of the body action, through integration and the perfect synergy between the aeronaval and territorial component.
At the end of the exercise, aboard the Guardoste G.123 “Fin. Salone”, the peculiar sectors of intervention in which the provincial command and the Roan of Vibo Valentia operate were illustrated to the magistrates, through the projection of slides.
