A path between archives, memory and images

On Thursday 25 September 2025 at 11 am to the University libraries of the University of Calabria, the exhibition itinerary “Telling to trace remedy. The images of the catastrophe in Calabria”, which can be visited until 24 October 2025. The initiative proposes a journey through documents, photographs and historical testimonies linked to the catastrophic events that have marked the Calabrian territory, with the aim of stimulating reflections on the collective memory and on the tools of prevention and prevention tools and Resilience.

The scientific direction is entrusted to Angela Maiello, with the care of Chiara Falcone and the production of Alessandro Calefati.

Invitations and interventions

The Irpi Archive of Rende contributes to the construction, the historical archive of Reggio Calabria, the Italian Red Cross Museum, together with Francesco Arena, Giovanna Catalano and Vito Teti.

During the inauguration Ercole Giap Parini, director of the Department of Political and Social Sciences, will speak, Angela Maiello herself as a scientific manager of the Caos project, Felice Cimatti and Chiara Falcone, members of the research group. The contributions of the participating artists and representatives of the collaborative entities, including the libraries of the economic-legal, technical-scientific and humanistic area of ​​the University are also planned.

An event that unites art, research and historical memory, to look to the future through the awareness of the fragility of the Calabrian territory.
