Messina stops after two consecutive useful results and, against Gela at home, the first defeat in the championship arrives. The week open with the judicial liquidation ends with the 0-2 immediately at the “Franco Scoglio”, which brakes the climb in the ranking of the Giallorossi. Against a more physical and experienced opponent, Messina struggles and it is guests who try with Giacomarro, but the right parades to the side. At 23 ‘there could be the turning point of the match with direct (excessive) red and Sbuttoni that leaves the gela in ten, but the numerical superiority is not seen. At 38 ‘the premises touch the advantage with a header of April, just outside, while at 45’ the guests hit with a penalty granted for hand of hand of Tasija and transformed by Sarao.
In the second half Messina tries to react with the conclusions from the distance of Garufi and Azzara, dangerous but without effect. The Gela is more concrete, which, in the 18th minute, still doubles with Sarao who, in the head, deflects the Cross of Cangemi on the net. It is the 0-2 that marks the end, because Messina, too light in the offensive phase, can be seen with the attempts of Azzara, April and Orlando who cannot change the fate of the challenge and remains last always at -10.
